Flat Design has been one of the most influential trends in web design. Basically everything from interfaces to other elements have substituted images, effects and complex, skeuomorphic lines for simple, pure, flat design in which primary, flat, colors reign supreme.

One thing is for sure, this isn’t just some passing trend based on simplicity and functionality; flat design is smart and meets the requirements of responsive web design. With the increase of responsive websites aimed at low performance devices with slow or unstable connections, it’s become essential to control image size, response time and adaptation to different screen sizes. In support of this trend, typography, which is already a responsive element, now takes center stage alongside icon fonts and scalable SVG images.
